Cuaba Cuban Cigars Brand

When the Cuaba Cuban cigars were introduced in 1996, it was the first Havana brand to be released commercially since 1968. What makes Cuaba Cuban cigars so unique is that they recreate the once popular figurado cigar shape.

During the 19th century, Cuban cigars were shaped to be tapered to a point, in a form called the figurado or the torpedo. This form was very trendy until the late 1930s, when tastes had switched to straight-sided, or parejos, cigars and the figurado cigar had practically disappeared.

Habanos introduced Cuaba cigars in London, England, as a way to revive the old British love for smoking figurados. The first cigars from the brand were the Cuaba Exclusivos, Cuaba Generosos, Cuaba Tradicionales and the Cuaba Divinos.

Made at the Romeo y Julieta cigar factory in Havana, all Cuaba cigars are handmade. However, because of the difficulty involved in making a figurado-shaped cigar, you would be very surprised to find two Cuaba cigars that are exactly the same shape. Figurado are some of the hardest cigars to make.

Up until 1997, Partagas was producing a machine-made figurado: Partagas Presidentes cigars.

The Flavors of Cuaba Cigars

Cuaba cigars have a taste that is very similar to Cuban Romeo y Julieta cigars. On average mild-to-medium bodied and nicely balanced, they have a range of flavors, but without having any one flavor stand out in particular.

Cuabas stand out for their pleasant aromas and bold, rich flavors. Being pointed at both ends produces an equally outstanding and even burn.

For their size, the Cuaba Cuban cigars pack a lot of flavor with plenty of spicy, peppery tones. With some aging though, the flavors mellow somewhat.

Popular Cuaba Cigars

Cuaba has attracted a lot of attention from cigar lovers with their beautiful antiquated shape and bold flavors. Some of the more popular Cuaba cigars include:

Cuaba Distinguidos cigars are shaped as an uncut figurado and are difficult to mould. Hence, this cigar is made only by expert hands. This cigar is a special edition of Cuaba cigar and has very good flavors.

Cuaba Divinos cigars are the smallest amongst all the Cuaba cigars. The expert roller who crafts these cigars should be exceptionally talented. It does not last long but is the future of this brand.

Cuaba Exclusivos cigars are one of the larger and stronger amongst all the cigars in this brand. But it is actually much smoother than what it looks.
