Ring GaugeA standard industry measurement for the diameter of the cigar barrel. One ring gauge is equal to 1/64 of an inch. Therefore, a 40 ring gauge cigar is 40/64ths of an inch thick.
Typically the larger the ring gauge, the more developed and full a cigar will taste. A wider cigar will also have a slower burn.
RobustoA standard cigar size typically 4 1/2 to 5 inches long with a 48 to 50 ring gauge.
RosadoA Spanish term which means "rose-colored" referring to the reddish tint of some Cuban-seed wrappers.
