Vegas Robaina Cuban cigars are a brand of handmade cigars, the second of two new lines, that was introduced by Habanos S.A.
in the spring of 1997. Initially available only in Spain, it has since been
made available to the rest of the world.
The brand is named after a man widely recognized to be the producer of the
finest cigar wrappers in the world, Don Alejandro Robaina. As head of this renowned Cuban tobacco-growing family,
Sr. Robaina has been running the plantations since 1950.
Vegas Robaina Cuban cigars are produced at the H. Upmann factory in Havana. Totally handmade, with filler from the San Luis
area of the Vuelta Abajo and the wrapper from the famous Vega Alejandro, the
brand features five, hand-rolled sizes - Don Alejandro (double corona), Famosos
(robusto), Classicos (lonsdale), Unicos (piramide), and Familiares (corona).
These Cuban cigars are described as having a medium-to-strong blend with an
excellent aroma, wonderful presentation and a fine burn. Because of their traditional,
strong flavors Vegas Robaina Cuban cigars are not recommended
for beginners.
